Zacinto’s first starter in Australia set the bar high today with his young daughter Navagio running second in the Catanch's Jewellers Handicap (1200m) at Caulfield.
Running greenly before powering through for a strong finish in the $80,000 event, Navagio finished just a neck away from the winner Yu Long Sheng Hui. Unbeaten in both his starts to date, Yu Long Sheng Hui is being touted as a Caulfield Guineas prospect by trainer Mick Price.
Navagio was a $40,000 purchase by her trainer Colin Little from the Inglewood Stud draft at the 2013 Karaka Select Sale. She is the first runner for her dam Pikea, a full sister to G2 Villiers Stakes winner Dances On Waves, and a half-sister to the dam of this season star Australian performer Preferment.
